Might sound harsh, but you'd be time and money (electric bill alone) ahead to 
scrap that PII/450 antique.

Possible exception of a 'Geode' SBC, it probably is no longer possible to buy 
anything slower, and for sure nothing as hot or power-hungry.

And - as the other box indicates - that should also solve your 'DragonFly' 
problem. Which looks to be hardware/firmware/timing related.
