/usr/src/games

Are  /usr/src/games/* 
really supposed to be part of  the base system?

While I don't see any harm in complete distros including
games from the get go, similar to Windows or Linux, 
I fail to see how these provide an essential service.

Shouldn't they be in /usr/ports?
