I don't know how widespread the usage of synergy is, but it's a
program in the sysutil freebsd ports and it's extremely useful to me.
I did a normal pkg_add -r synergy without any problems on DFBDS 1.1,
but when I tested the connection, it connects, but doesn't function
properly. This is all that's in my log file:

NOTE: accepted client connection WARNING: protocol error from client "<unknown>"

Mind you, this worked perfectly with FreeBSD 5.3RC1, so what would be
the difference in DragonFly that this wouldn't work? I thought TCP/IP
was TCP/IP?

Thanks,
PJ

The ``protocol error'' may be due to a difference in versions of _Synergy_ between the package you added in DragonFly, and the package / port you installed in FreeBSD. Synergy does work in DragonFly, but do make sure that you are running the same version.

There is no protocol error in TCP/IP; the error sounds like it's in communication between the synergy client and server.
