kernel panic, still

I just remade kernel and world and rebooted with ACPI on. As before, it threw 
a kernel panic. I typed "reset" and this time rebooted with ACPI off. It 
boots successfully, but said "dumpdev busy" and "savecore: no dumps found". 
dumpdev is ad0s1b, which is the swap device. How do I get a dump out of it?
