For the network card, are you using any special sysctl settings to get it to work? I tried the nv driver and didn't have any more luck with it than with nfe. Even nvidia is encouraging people to use the open source

BTW, have you tried polling(4)? What's the output of `ifconfig nfe0`?

I seem to remember having DEVICE_POLLING in my kernel config. Will check tonight. I'll try with and without. Does the emergency_intr sysctl only affect non-polled devices or will it affect it in any case?

driver (on Linux, anyway) rather than the one they wrote (wierdos).

It's possible that when I tried nv, I tried it after having loaded nfe
and the card may have been in a strange state. Whenever I load nfe in

I think you should unload nfe before load nv

Oh yes, I did. But since it's managing to confuse the card enough that the Windows driver won't work, I'm not surprised nv wouldn't either.

How does the binary blob get used by the driver? Is it linked into
if_nv.ko or is it loaded at runtime?

DragonFly, I then need to power the machine off completely before
Windows can use the card.

Some registers are quite sticky ;-), I needed to power off computer for 3min if I nuked some re(4) PHY registers
