    That could turn into a can of worms.  There is really no 'best' way
    to back-up a drive that does not entail the risk of accidently 
    destroying something (like mis-specifying the target drive).  This
    risk would be very close to being the same risk you take when trying
    to install an OS onto a disk that has already been partitioned so
    I don't think it would be that beneficial.
