some remarks:

- please follow up to existing postings or directly enter them in the bug tracker, so that information stays connected

- our installer is way out of date.  we seriously need to upgrade it to its latest version, which is supposed to be better

- this needs to be committed to the bsdinstaller sources or whatever.  we need a way to communicate changes.  i'll see if i can find my cvs access.
