[PATCH] update patch

Hi,

here's a patch that updates patch:

Changes:

o Take back the commit from Oct. 1, 2004 since FreeBSD has changed their 
Mk/bsd.port.mk in the meantime to use --suffix.
o Sync with OpenBSD.
o Minor cleanup.

If there aren't any objections, I'll commit that around Jan. 3, 2005.
