Yech is my first reaction.

Seems Microsoft is trying to artificially create a perceived speed
improvement for its own memory hogs like Outlook.

Accessing secondary data storage looks like fun, but the majority of the
users still use USB 1.0 or 1.1 and only in the last year or so has EHCI (USB
2.0) been making progress in being used for newer devices.  The bandwidth to
USB 1.0/1.1 is not something I would want a VM to make use of.

Also note that most USB flash devices are very limited in their write
ability (1000-100000 times able to be written to nowadays?).
