Both would be suitable for a userland implementation. DragonFly's CAPS messaging calls (for userland) are loosely modeled after the
Amiga's named port rendezvous.


    Note, however, that CAPS needs more work.  I think I need to simplify
    it a bit more.... right now it generates extra messages to give the
    two sides the ability to manage their buffers but I think it is actually
    better to not generate those extra messages and just stuck with the
    message/reply model.
