The latest version allows one to checkpoint an application that is not checkpoint-aware via SIGCKPT and SIGCKPTEXIT. There is a sysctl "kern.ckptfile" that lets one set the format of the checkpoint file name. See the README for details. http://www.fsmware.com/ckpt7.tgz
