avalon doesn't have .../stable directories for all subdirs. I assume 
symlinks are pointing one level too deep. So for certain versions 
(2.3.0, 2.3.1, etc.) pkg_radd will not work.

BTW, can we have a http view on avalon which shows us which dirs are 
actual dirs and which are just symlinks, please?
