NOTE on all of these MFCs - 1.4.4 will officially release Friday

    There may be a little more work trickling in, and some testing has to
    be done.  Even though I have MFCd all this work to DragonFly_RELEASE_1_4,
    I have NOT yet slipped the DragonFly_RELEASE_1_4_Slip tag so people
    using the 'official' cvsup file for the release branch will not see
    these changes until Friday.
