[DragonFlyBSD - Bug #2429] (Resolved) Abnormally low NFS/TCP 10Gb/s performance with Linux clients
Issue #2429 has been updated by Francois Tigeot.
Status changed from New to Resolved
% Done changed from 0 to 100
DragonFly is not to blame for these abysmal performance results after all.
The original Linux client machine was running Scientific Linux 6.2; updating it to SL 6.3 was enough to
fix the transfer speed issues at 10Gb/s.
Even though Scientific Linux 6.3 also uses a 2.6.32 kernel, it is able to read files at speeds up to 5.4 Gb/s.

Bug #2429: Abnormally low NFS/TCP 10Gb/s performance with Linux clients
http://bugs.dragonflybsd.org/issues/2429
Author: Francois Tigeot
Status: Resolved
Priority: High
Assignee:
Category:
Target version:
Setup:
- two Xeon boxes
- one Intel X520 10G-base-T NIC (ixgbe driver) in each box
- a single CAT6 cable to link them
- DragonFly-3.1 server
- Linux kernel 2.6.32 client
NFS/TCP file transfer performance only reaches 450 KB/s top
The same Linux client machine is able to read files at a speed of 110 MB/s using
regular Gigabit network interfaces (bce and em drivers)
