without -static or -pg it works ok.

The problem seems to be that for some reason the ABI-tag winds up later than in the first page, and the kernel decides to ignore it.


Just do an objdump -x on gcrt1.o or the binary to see what I mean. I don't know how we can move that one to the beginning. Linker script?
