I'm guessing that you need to do a 'make upgrade'.

If you've already done a 'make upgrade' then I'm guessing you
may need to do yet another 'make world' just to get rid of the
last bits of perl.

Sometimes these major changes take a few tries before they
filter completely through the make/install cycle, depending
on how long since you did the last upgrade.  (Yes, it is
Black Magic ;o)
