:FYI, actually increasing the aperature size fixed it.  I was asking
:XFree86 to try and grab a larger aperature than the BIOS was allocating.

    Excellent!  I am going to add a 'maybe the BIOS and X disagree on the
    aperature size' warning to that error message :-)
