CMOS still gets trashed with an SMP kernel

I've been ignoring this for a while.  While the APIC probe was fixed some
time ago for my SuperMicro board, I'm still getting CMOS damage with SMP
kernels.  Now that I can finally boot with SMP I guess I may have a chance
of tracking down the problem.  My only question is where to start looking.
