(First, I think there may have been a problem with the TERM setting.
I have it back on cons25 now. I don't know if that could have been
responsible for the weird HAL error.)

Here's the last two dmesgs (they differ). Do you smell a hardware
problem here?

. ..

Preloaded elf module "/modules/if_ath.ko" at 0xc04db260.
ath_hal: 0.9.20.3 (AR5210, AR5211, AR5212, RF5111, RF5112, RF2413, RF5413)
Preloaded elf module "/modules/ath_rate.ko" at 0xc04db308.
Preloaded elf module "/modules/ath_hal.ko" at 0xc04db3b4.

. ..

cardbus0: Expecting link target, got 0xff
cardbus0: Resource not specified in CIS: id=10, size=10000
ath0: <Atheros 5212> mem 0x88010000-0x8801ffff irq 11 at device 0.0 on cardbus0
ath0: unable to attach hardware; HAL status 14
device_probe_and_attach: ath0 attach returned 6

HAL status 14 is card "self test fail" :(

I would also like to check something. You may have noted that I'm using Preview now instead of Release. I applied the ath0 and cbb patches but not the sample.h.diff patch. Is that right?

As long as the ath patch applies cleanly, it will not be problem.

Best Regards,
sephe
