ddb says: "No gdb port enabled"

Hello,

surely plenty of people here use remote gdb routinely and hopefully
could help with it:
i'm trying to solve the question of DF's ips(4) hanging while FBSD 5.3
one isn't. Dropping to ddb with 'boot -d', i issue the 'gdb' command to
ddb who responds as per the subject line: ..." Set flag 0x80 on desired
port in your configuration file (currently sio only)."

GENERIC equipped with 'flags 0x10' for device sio0 isn't usable for
remote GDB, or is it ? I'd be happy to learn i'm wrong, because i've got
no mean to compile a custom kernel...

Thanks for your advice,
Francis.
