bge: Broadcom NetXtreme?

Hi list,

I intend to run DragonFly on a new HP machine with an onboard NIC. As
it turned out, this flavour of Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet (NetXtreme)
isn't currently supported by the bge module.

I didn't have a chance to test a brandnew snapshot (only from
12/12/2004), but couldn't see big changes to this code since then
anyway. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Are there any plans to make this chip work under DragonFly, ie.
update/sync the driver code in the near future?

I don't know how much the drivers differ from the FreeBSD ones
meanwhile. If they don't, I'll give it a go. Though I suppose this
attempt won't be a great story of success nor finished in reasonable time.

Thanks in advance
/Markus

The xl0 interface is a PCI-card I stuffed into.
