Hehe, ok. :)
It works now. I think the problem is, that the checkout isn't mentioned in the readmes/helpfiles (at least in these I found).

Ah, okay. It seems I haven't correctly downloaded the source-tree.
There is a file named /usr/src/etc/mtree/BSD.root.dist,v. Most files in
/usr/src are ending with ,v.
I'll check some readmes what went wrong...

As noted in previous threads, it seems you originally installed a
complete 'repository' of the sources, as opposed to a 'checked-out'
(and ready-to-compile) copy of the original CVS repository.

The FreeBSD/DFly tradition is to use cvsup rather than cvs to
'check-out' the source code. This gives you the already
'checked-out' copy of sources rather than the original CVS
repository. Typically, only developers or maintainers of
a CVS mirror would be interested in maintaining a copy
of the entire CVS repository.

Most of us lamers just use cvsup to check out a copy of the
source code. The phrase 'check out' comes from one of the
commands used with the cvs utility -- read the cvs manpage
if you want to know more. (Eventually you will actually
*want* to know how to use cvs, believe-it-or-not ;-)
