[PATCH] ac97 merge from FreeBSD CURRENT

From: Emiel Kollof <coolvibe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Date: Sun, 18 Jan 2004 21:21:01 +0100

This patch, mostly obtained from FreeBSD CURRENT, allows many ac97
mixers and cards to work properly again. It works for me at least. :)

Please test and review, (and hopefully) commit.

Cheers,
Emiel
