Sascha already answered to that. I can only say that in USB land (from
usbdevs context) things are worse in order of magnitude.

I'm almost sure that many disagree. We can make it optional/module maybe?
But there is one thing we certainly shouldn't do - to obfuscate the info
in the dmesg that we don't output vendor/device id pair if device has the
description. We do it currently and this is really bad IMHO.
