:|     I've done fairly extensive testing using gnome-terminal, pine, and

:|     It isn't perfect but it seems to do a pretty good job.

:well as log in on the console after I continued a suspended job (tcsh,
:^Z and fg) which is a build of X.org 6.8.2.

    Ok, I've reproduced this to a degree.  I'll try to figure out what
    is going on there.
