I should note that this is not intrusive to normal operations since one would need to specify their logging filename somthing like this:

* %/var/log/system.log

I like the idea of the function, but someone should take a deep look at the code and verify that its clean. It also looks like they havent done anything with the patch since february 2001, wich is kind of getting old :-)
