Could very well be a hardware flaw in the controller, one that isn't 
worked around in software by DF (yet).

Basic idea is that DF sends a series of commands that are valid but 
throw the controller into a loop.  Communications eventually time out, 
so DF resets the controller.

Sadly, these kind of hardware bugs seem to be on the increase.
