Hi !

    buildworld seems to exercise pipes fairly well.  Anything that uses
    pipes that you can automate the test for.
OK, I did that with the patch in single-user and
without the patch in multi-user (because I had to do it remotely).
UP, Pentium 4, 1G RAM.
It's with a ggc3 world and kernel and CCVER=gcc3.
Here's what sysctl kern.pipe gave *after* the build:

kern.pipe.nbig: 0
kern.pipe.kva: 442368
kern.pipe.maxcache: 16
kern.pipe.maxbig: 32
kern.pipe.bcache_alloc: 33485
kern.pipe.dcache_alloc: 25548
kern.pipe.bkmem_alloc: 565
kern.pipe.dkmem_alloc: 360

Any other info needed ?
