It's probably solved, but you have stale includes. Observe:

FreeBSD mothra.ipv6.hackerheaven.org 4.8-STABLE FreeBSD 4.8-STABLE #4: Fri Nov 14 17:23:37 CET 2003 root@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:/usr/obj/usr/dragonsrc/sys/MOTHRA.apm i386

/usr/include/inttypes.h:
	$FreeBSD: src/include/inttypes.h,v 1.8 2002/09/22 08:06:45 tjr Exp $
	$DragonFly: src/include/inttypes.h,v 1.1 2003/11/09 02:22:28 dillon Exp $

#include <stdio.h>
#include <inttypes.h>

int main(int argc, char **argv)
{
	printf("foo!\n");
	return 0;
}

cc -O -pipe   foo.c  -o foo

foo!

But I did update my includefiles by nuking /usr/includes and running
make includes. I do that every time Matt decides to reorganize include
files (just watch the commit-messages and the heads-ups)
