Thank you Bill i will take a look at the page later today and see what i can do.

Welcome!

Forgot to mention - do this first - it will require four to eight reboots:

1) Interrupt POST, enter BIOS, look for 'PNP/PCI Configuration' (or similar)
set MB BIOS to 'PNP OS Installed: NO' or similar.

- reboot, tel DFLY to boot 'With ACPI Disabled (2)
observe time-out on the SATA, , save dmesg to a
file and add your comments as to the above
   settings and results.

- Do the same with DFLY normal boot.

3) Change MB BIOS to 'PNP OS installed: YES'
do two re-boots, as above ACPI-aware and not.

- If the SATA is on the MB, repeat with it enabled/disabled.

- If the SATA is add-on, try interrupting the Sil BIOS
and see if it has more than one mode...

- If comparison of the above is still 'no joy',
see if the MB has a 'boot other devices' setting
that can be optioned off, and if that makes any difference.

Only then - if still 'no joy' will you have to look at
modifying the DragonFly device scan.

(Else live with the delay, or yank the Sil controller.)

;-)

HTH,

Bill

Giving up, interrupt routing is probably hosed
