I have a DragonFly machine built as of the 11th; on the same network as a
FreeBSD machine. My FreeBSD machine (which does not have LIBMCHAIN,
LIBICONV, or smbfs mentioned in the kernel config file) can mount shares.
The DragonFly machine gets this, using the same mount_smbfs command:

mount_smbfs: vfsload(smbfs): Exec format error

Both machines have a /dev/nsmb0. After mounting, the FreeBSD machine has
this in kldstat:
 5 1 0xc27d2000 1e000 smbfs.ko
 6 1 0xc27f0000 3000 libiconv.ko
 7 1 0xc27f3000 3000 libmchain.ko

So... I'm not much help. libiconv.ko seems to be missing from the /modules
directory on the DragonFly machine.
