NAME

UNIX input module - syslogd(8) input module for unix system logging

SYNOPSIS

unix<:log_socket>

DESCRIPTION

Reads the log messages from a socket (traditionally /var/run/log) for processing by the syslogd(8) daemon. It's options are: log_socket Socket to use, default is /var/run/log.

EXAMPLES

* Starts syslogd(8) , reading logs from /var/run/log: syslogd -i unix * or reading from /some/log_device: syslogd -i 'unix /some/log_device'
